In light of recent COP26 discussions and increased environmental awareness, we have put together a simple guide on fostering recycling practices with vaping products to alleviate strain on landfills.

Embracing recycling efforts, no matter how arduous, is crucial. While some items are more challenging to recycle than others, recycling a vape device, for instance, demands meticulous separation of materials. For instance, the metal used in a vape coil can only be recycled once it’s clean, free from non-recyclable components like cotton or mesh inside. Though it’s labor-intensive, it’s a vital step towards eco-consciousness.

It’s worth noting that different regions vary in recycling abilities, so consulting local authorities or recycling centers before recycling is advisable.

Recycling Vape Coils

Coils, comprising metal wire and wicking material, collect e-liquid. While most coils are detachable, some integrated into tanks or pods pose a dismantling challenge. Refer to packaging or manuals for specific recycling directions if needed.

To recycle a removed coil, focus on the metal part. Ensure the coil is devoid of non-recyclable materials like cotton or wicking before depositing it in household recycling, completely free of e-liquid or nicotine residues.

Recycling Vape Tanks

The tank/pod, which houses e-liquid, is typically easy to recycle if made of traditional metal. Swift separation from batteries and removal of non-recyclable parts like rubber and silicone are essential.

Metal tanks can be included in household recycling, but glass might require special processing depending on toughened status. Clean the tank thoroughly of e-liquid and nicotine residues.

Recycling Vape Batteries

Batteries are crucial and should be responsibly recycled due to hazardous contents. Lithium batteries, commonly found in vaping devices, require specialized disposal at designated battery recycling points.

Remove the battery and place it in designated recycling bins available in supermarkets, recycling facilities, or at Vampire Vape store locations.

Recycling E-Liquid Bottles

Most e-liquid bottles, typically plastic like LDPE, HDPE, or PET, are recyclable, with PET being widely accepted. Confirm local authority recycling policies for varied plastics.
