Net worth of Miley Cyrus – What is it?

$160 million is the net worth of Miley Cyrus, an American singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist. From a child actor/singer, Miley Cyrus has risen to become a global star. Her music covers various genres like pop, country pop, and hip hop.

Miley Cyrus, whose real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus, comes from a family with a background in show business. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, gained popularity with his hit song “Achy Breaky Heart” in the early 90s. He went on to have a successful country music and acting career. This background paved the way for Miley Cyrus to enter the entertainment industry.

She gained immense fame with the Disney series “Hannah Montana,” leading to successful tours, clothing lines, films, and more. Transitioning from her teenage image, Miley Cyrus focused on a more mature career, releasing official albums, and expanding her projects.

Early Years of Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was born as Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, to Tish Finley and Billy Ray Cyrus. She was born with a medical condition called supraventricular tachycardia. Cyrus was named Destiny Hope by her parents with the belief that she would achieve great things. Her childhood nickname “Smiley” eventually became “Miley.” She legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus in 2008.

At the age of eight, in 2001, Cyrus and her family relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, while her father worked on the TV show “Doc.” Watching “Mamma Mia!” in 2001 sparked her interest in acting. Cyrus began taking singing and acting lessons at the Armstrong Acting Studio in Toronto.

Life Off Camera

Miley Cyrus announced at the age of 14 to her mother that she does not wish to label herself, expressing openness to love from anyone who accepts her as she is – revealing her pansexuality. In June 2015, Time magazine reported that Cyrus, then 16, identified as gender fluid, not adhering to traditional gender identities.

She founded the Happy Hippie Foundation, an organization dedicated to fighting injustices faced by homeless youth, LGBTQ individuals, and other marginalized communities.

In 2006, Miley began dating Nick Jonas, creating a media frenzy. Despite her proclamation of being “in love,” the relationship ended in December 2007. She later dated model Justin Gaston for nine months in 2008 and 2009.

The start of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s relationship began during the filming of 2009’s “The Last Song.” It would span over a decade with many on-again/off-again phases. In between, Cyrus had relationships with actors Lucas Till and Josh Bowman. Cyrus and Hemsworth were engaged from May 2012 to September 2013, briefly breaking up. She then dated Patrick Schwarzenegger, model Stella Maxwell, and actor Dane Cook. In March 2016, Cyrus and Hemsworth reconciled, getting engaged once again in October 2016. The couple finally married in December 2018, but their marriage ended with Hemsworth filing for divorce in August 2019.

In late 2018, Miley Cyrus faced the loss of her Malibu home that succumbed to wildfires in Los Angeles County.

Cyrus announced her committed relationship with Australian singer Cody Simpson in October 2019 after years of friendship. Unfortunately, the duo would part ways in August 2020.

Not shying away from it, Cyrus has been open about her recreational cannabis use.

Real Estate

Miley acquired a California home above Studio City for $4 million in 2011, boasting villa architecture, Tuscan-like features, and a notable guitar collection from Billy Ray. The property exudes a mix of modern and old Italian styles, as per Miley’s description to In Style magazine.

Her 2017 purchase of a 30-acre ranch estate in Nashville, Tennessee, for $5.8 million turned out to be a lucrative investment when she sold it for $14.6 million in August 2022, enjoying an $8 million profit with no significant renovations made.

In unfortunate events, Miley and Liam Hemsworth lost their Malibu home to the Woolsey Fire in 2018. Though Liam was the owner, Miley later sold another Malibu property at a loss of over $800,000.

Among other property dealings, she sold her Hidden Hills ranch for $5 million in 2018, the same price she bought it for in 2015. The estate included a variety of amenities such as a vineyard and equestrian facilities.

Miley’s latest real estate transaction involved a 7,000-square-foot Hidden Hills mansion she bought for $5 million in July 2020, only to sell it for $7.2 million in July 2021.
