What Is Dan Bilzerian’s Net Worth?

With a net worth of $100 million, Dan Bilzerian is an American venture capitalist, actor, social media influencer, and avid gambler. Initially aspiring to be a Navy SEAL, he had a moderately successful acting career, amassed significant wealth through poker, and gained global recognition due to his extravagant social media presence and notoriously lavish lifestyle. Currently, he boasts over 33 million Instagram followers.

Bilzerian’s rise to fame is mainly attributed to his opulent and often controversial lifestyle, showcased on his widely followed Instagram account. Known for hosting lavish parties and showcasing his affluence, Bilzerian frequently shares images featuring high-stakes gambling, firearms, and an array of women. Although he asserts that his wealth is derived from success in high-stakes poker games, the validity of his winnings has been debated. His poker endeavors have played a crucial role in his fame. Beyond poker, Dan has also pursued acting, starring in films such as “Olympus Has Fallen” (2013), “Lone Survivor” (2013), and “The Equalizer” (2014). However, his acting career has often been eclipsed by his social media fame and public image.

Dan’s father, Paul Bilzerian, was a notable corporate takeover expert convicted for fraud and served time in prison. Bilzerian has encountered backlash due to accusations of misogynistic conduct and the promotion of a lifestyle focused on hedonism.

Early Life

Born Daniel Brandon Bilzerian on December 7, 1980, in Tampa Bay, Florida, Dan’s father, Paul Bilzerian, made a name as a private equity and corporate takeover specialist during the 1980s. Through his father, Dan has Armenian heritage. By age 36, Paul had amassed a self-made fortune of $40 million, but in 1988, he was indicted for tax and securities fraud, when Dan was just eight years old. By 2001, Paul declared bankruptcy, listing a mere $15,000 in assets against over $140 million in debts. Dan’s mother is Terri Steffen, and he has a brother named Adam, who is also involved in poker. At their height, the family resided in a 28,000-square-foot mansion in Tampa, featuring ten bedrooms; this property was foreclosed in 2016 after Paul fled to the Caribbean to avoid arrest. Prior to his indictment, Paul reportedly established trust funds for both Dan and Adam, though it’s uncertain how much, if any, of these funds have contributed to Dan’s current extravagant lifestyle or if they were derived from Paul’s alleged fraudulent activities.

Dan Bilzerian’s Early Career

Dan enlisted in the Navy in 1999, proceeding to undergo SEAL training in 2000, where he completed two hell weeks. However, a few weeks before graduation, he was dismissed from the program following a disagreement regarding a safety breach on the gun range. After his Navy stint, Dan attended the University of Florida, majoring in Criminology and Business.

Poker Career

In 2009, at 29 years old, Dan launched his professional poker career, finishing 180th in the World Series of Poker Main Event that same year. This event marked his most successful officially sanctioned poker endeavor, with winnings exceeding $36,000.

Currently, Dan is recognized as a skilled poker player. Despite relatively modest official career winnings from sanctioned tournaments, he claims to have earned millions, potentially even tens of millions, in private games.

InIn 2011, following the sentencing of Ponzi scheme artist Bradley Ruderman to prison, Dan and ten other celebrities, including Tobey Maguire and Nick Cassavetes, were requested to repay the winnings they had secured from Ruderman. This repayment aimed to assist in compensating the victims that Ruderman had defrauded throughout his criminal activities. That same year, Dan publicly supported Alex Rodriguez amid allegations regarding illegal gambling.

At a notably legendary event, it was reported that Dan won $12.8 million, which included $10.8 million from a single heads-up, no-limit hold ’em game with stakes of $5,000-$10,000. Following this victory, he celebrated by taking a private jet to Mexico. In 2014, he claimed to have earned $50 million from poker games but also acknowledged losing more than $3 million on at least three separate occasions. “Bluff Magazine” named him the “Funniest Poker Player on Twitter,” and he is also a co-founder of Victory Poker.

Ignite

Dan Bilzerian manages the company Ignite, which markets electronic cigarettes, CBD oils, vodka, water bottles, and various other products. It was reported that the company incurred losses exceeding $50 million in 2019, primarily due to marketing and office rental costs. “Forbes” noted that numerous luxurious items and properties owned by Dan are charged to the corporate account of Ignite International Ltd.

Acting Career

Beyond his poker career, he has featured in several films including “Olympus Has Fallen,” “Lone Survivor,” “The Other Woman,” “Extraction,” “The Equalizer,” “Cat Run 2,” and “War Dogs,” released in 2016.

Bilzerian initiated a lawsuit against the producers of “Lone Survivor,” arguing that he had provided a $1 million loan in exchange for a guarantee of at least 8 minutes of screen time and 80 words of dialogue. Ultimately, his role amounted to less than one minute of screen time with a single brief line of dialogue. His lawsuit demanded $1.2 million, equating to the original loan amount plus a 20% increase. However, it was later withdrawn as Dan gained substantial publicity from the situation, reportedly making $1.5 million on his investment due to the film’s success.

In August 2014, he faced a ban from a Miami nightclub after kicking model Vanessa Castano in the face during a confrontation. He claimed that Vanessa and another woman had attacked his girlfriend. Subsequently, Castano sued him for $1 million for her injuries.

Later that year, Dan became involved in a lawsuit with adult film actress Janice Griffith. During a photoshoot for “Hustler,” he allegedly threw her off a roof into a pool, but she sustained a broken foot after miscalculating the jump. She requested $85,000 from Bilzerian for her injuries, which he declined. Griffith subsequently filed a lawsuit against both “Hustler” and Bilzerian.

In December of the same year, Dan was arrested at LAX Airport on charges related to bomb-making. However, these charges were later dismissed, and he was released the same day. In February 2015, he entered a no contest plea to the charge of “negligently failing to extinguish a fire in the open,” receiving a fine of $17,231.

Social Media

Recently, Dan gained significant notoriety due to his Instagram posts, boasting over 33 million followers, which showcase an extraordinary playboy lifestyle that might even make Hugh Hefner envious. He refers to himself as the Playboy King of Instagram. His extravagant lifestyle has been so extreme that Dan experienced three heart attacks before turning 32. On Joe Rogan’s podcast on YouTube, he discussed his journey to the poker scene and his current way of living.

Personal Life

In June 2015, Bilzerian declared his intention to run for President of the United States. By 2016, he ended up endorsing Donald Trump—a fact that became somewhat ironic given that later revelations indicated Hillary Clinton had been renting Dan’s private jet throughout much of her campaign. More details about this will follow later in the article.

In August 2018, Dan traveled to Armenia with his father, Paul, and brother, Adam, to take their citizenship oaths. During this visit, he also went to a shooting range and fired various weapons. This led the government of Azerbaijan to file a protest note with the U.S. Department of State, and subsequently, a court in Baku issued an arrest warrant for Bilzerian, placing him on the international wanted list.

On October 1, 2017, Dan was present during the Las Vegas mass shooting. He recorded himself several times that evening, sharing videos on Instagram. In the first clip, he was fleeing to safety, while in a subsequent video, he said, “Had to go grab a gun. I’m f—cking headed back.” However, in his final post, he was on his way home, stating, “I don’t think there’s much I can do.” His actions that night sparked considerable media scrutiny and debate.

Dan Bilzerian Real Estate

Throughout the last ten years, Dan has resided in Bel Air, Las Vegas, and the Hollywood Hills. He typically rented his residences outside of Nevada. For tax reasons, he claims Las Vegas, Nevada, as his primary dwelling. In 2014, he acquired a 5-bedroom property in Summerlin South, Nevada, for $4.1 million. This custom home is situated in one of the city’s most prestigious communities, The Ridges, and lies adjacent to a private golf course. This residence boasts five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a pool with a hot tub, underground parking, a built-in backyard bar and grill, and a gun vault that can store up to 1,000 firearms. He sold this property in 2017 for $5.1 million.

In 2018, Dan purchased another home in the Las Vegas area for $8.5 million. The property spans 5 acres and features a mansion measuring 40,000 square feet. He put this mansion up for sale in September 2024, listing it for $25 million.

Also in 2018, Dan rented an enormous four-story, 12-bedroom mansion in Bel Air for around $50,000 a month. Before that, he had been renting his Hollywood Hills home for $39,000 a month. His new rental, intended to feel like a nightclub, includes a two-lane bowling alley, a wine cellar, a movie theater, a sports room, and five bars.

Bilzerian Family Mansion in Tampa

During the early 1990s, Dan’s father constructed a 28,000-square-foot lakefront mansion on 3.4 acres within a gated community.

Located in the Tampa suburbs, this home boasts ten bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, a movie theater, a wine room, four fireplaces, and a swimming pool complete with a water slide and waterfall. An entire “athletic wing” includes features such as an indoor basketball court, racquetball court, and a full professional gym:

After moving in, Paul Bilzerian faced arrest and was charged with securities fraud. The family attempted to sell the residence in 2004, but following allegations that the sale was actually to an LLC they controlled, the bank seized the property. From 2008 onward, the mansion remained vacant. In 2016, it was sold at a bankruptcy auction yet continued to be unoccupied. When the property was relisted in January 2022 for $5.133 million, the listing photos revealed some of Dan’s childhood items, including his Little League photos, still in his former bedroom. The home was then re-listed three months later at a price of $6.6 million, but as of this date, it has yet to be sold.

Private Jet

Dan owns a 1987 Gulfstream G-IV private jet that accommodates up to 22 passengers, depending on its configuration. The aircraft is registered under a corporation named “GOAT Airways LLC,” possibly signifying “greatest of all time,” and is based in Santa Monica, California. Notably, the aircraft registration number concludes with the letters “DB,” which many interpret as a deliberate nod to Dan Bilzerian’s initials.

During the Presidential campaign featuring Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Dan’s jet made a notable appearance. Interestingly, Clinton often chartered Dan’s plane through a third-party company throughout her campaign. Below is a photo of Hillary disembarking from Dan’s private jet in August 2016 at an airport in Santa Anna, California:
